Recruitment Fair - Big Rapids, MI

Recruitment Fair Will Focus on Older Worker Opportunities. Big Rapids, MI - The Experience Works Senior Community Employment Program (SCSEP) will be accepting applications on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at 10 am to 4 pm, at Michigan Works, 14330 Northland Drive in Big Rapids. Program applicants must be age 55 or older, unemployed, live in Mecosta County, and have incomes of $14,363 per year or less for a family of one ($19,388 for a family of two). For more information call 989-773-1932. Sponsored by the nonprofit organization Experience Works, SCSEP is available at no cost to people who meet eligibility criteria. The program provides paid community service assignments at local public and non-profit organizations, training, referral to needed services, and job search assistance. With updated skills, participants use their community services training as a springboard to permanent jobs with local employers. "Sewing For Sandy"

Quilters have come together to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Area churches and quilting groups are creating and sending quilts to victims who are still living in tents and partially restored homes, but they need your help to send them to those who need them. Checks/Donations for shipping the quilts can be sent to Artwork in Big Rapids with \"Sewing For Sandy\" noted on the address or the memo line of your check.
